Insurance
I have been trained and educated about every aspect of insurance. I have also passed the Arizona State Exam for Insurance Licenses and now hold a license myself.
 
Leadership
Knowledge about leadership and characteristics of small group commincation are only a few of the areas I have studied. Every activity I am in teaches me more about being a leader, but the academic study of leadership has enhanced my perception of how leaders persue leadership and the most effective ways to lead and communicate in small groups.

Customer Service Representative/Technical Support
  • I started as a temporary worker in a clerical role. Shortly afterwards I was promoted to customer service representative and computer support for remote national and regional sales office. I helped them move into a larger office complex and assisted in setting up the computers, testing them and training employees on Lotus and Microsoft programs. I continue to help solve computer related issues for the sales office as well as for their remote users. In addition I also do customer service work which includes, answering and solving customers requests or problems over the phone, filing, ordering supplies, sending out endorsements, policies, and other paperwork to customers I set up home networking, VPN and pother functions for the National Sales Manager and Vice President of Empire.
  • In addition to my normal job, even before being hired as an employee I was subcontracted under my company Sethmatics to do PowerPoint presentations, develop themes, design logos/banners, posters and other tasks to help the National Sales Manager, National Sales Coordinator, home office staff in Omaha, and the Regional Sales Managers located nationwide in order to put together their national sales meetings over the past four years. These meetings have been held in Palm Springs, Scottsdale and Florida. Last year I was also subcontracted to do the video taping and digital photography, as well as the PowerPoint presentations for different managers and presenters for the sales meeting, the logo for the theme once again, and help with interviewing/video taping and photography of award winners on video.

  • IT Tech: Consulting, organizing, and ordering all electronic objects for the office. Finding, building, and installing over ten computers for the office. Networking and intigration of the newest security and technology for use with the network between the computers in the office. Program training and troubleshooting including all microsoft products and specialized insurance programs.
  • Web Designer: The creation of a high tech website. Website allows for user login and specialized access to the secure members area. Setup of email system, web access to email, and specialized email configurations.
  • Insurance Producer: After taking over 24 hours of professional training and passing the Arizona State Insurance License Exam, I have become licensed to sell insurance in Arizona for Property and Casualty, this includes Auto Insurance. I been selling insurance since August of 2003.

Skills:

·     I have 15 years experience working with computers.

·     Business and marketing skills as a result of my starting and developing a company called Sethmatics, Inc.  I am the President and CEO.  This company is in its third year and is now incorporated and bringing in a steady income.  I do computer networking for homes and businesses, programming, troubleshooting, consulting and training for individuals and businesses.  I have further developed skills in strategic marketing in order to develop customers and in general business skills involving taxes, bookkeeping, budgeting, invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, corporation formation/stock/corporate minutes, business banking and record keeping. 

·     I am flexible and adapt well to change.  Computer industry changed quickly and I am flexible and adaptable to those changes.  In addition, my job at Empire requires I do various jobs and projects. I am at ease with adapting to new and diverse projects and tasks.

·     My most prominent skill is in leadership as indicated by my role in school, church, community as well as in initiating, developing and marketing my own company.

 
OBJECTIVE:

To obtain acceptance into the CIS department in order to further my studies with information systems and business management, to pursue a minor in some department of the Communications college, to actively support the brothers of Delta Sigma Pi and my family of students of LSP (Leadership Scholarship Program), and to gain experience in a real world job through an internship applicable to my major.

 
Activies and Honors:

Church Leadership:

·        I have attended Chaparral Christian Church for 15 years. I have auditioned and received parts in both drama and music for the plays at the church my entire life.

·        I was chosen to be in a worship band put together for UCYC.  This is a Christian summer camp where hundreds of teens from churches all over Arizona attend.   I was one of two lead singers chosen for this worship band, which was a great honor and privilege.

·        In the past I was chosen as one of 12 students to be a part of a ministry leadership program known as Lamplighters. Lamplighters are picked by church ministry leaders where they see the highest leadership skills demonstrated by the teens in the congregation. I attended the conference in California in 2000 further developing in servicing and leadership skills.

·        Selected to design, develop and maintain youth web site for our church.

 ·        Assisted my dad in starting a program three years ago for the Christian Care Facility in Phoenix.  We organize a group of youth, solicit and provide enough donation money to take a group of foster children each year to a store so they can buy presents for their families and themselves for Christmas.  We arrange and provide a bus for transportation, negotiated a discount with Toys-R-Us, present a gift bible and gift bag for each child, organize youth to help the children shop and work with the center each year to further enhance this program.  My family outside of church does this.

·        I’ve participated in about 300 hours of community service.
